MAW in Dectar (Dewan Canselor Tun Abdul Razak)

On the following MAW day, we were instructed to gather at DECTAR (Dewan Canselor Tun Abdul Razak), one of the largest and most iconic halls in UKM. Walking inside the hall for the first time felt impressive, the atmosphere carried a sense of ceremony and pride. It was the kind of place that made me feel like something important was about to happen.

Students from different colleges filled the seats, chatting softly while waiting for the program to begin. When the event started, we listened to speeches from lecturers and university representatives. They spoke about university life, responsibilities, and culture. Even though some parts were serious, the messages felt sincere and encouraging as if reminding us that we were entering a new chapter with purpose.

At one point, the entire hall stood to sing the Malaysian national anthem and the well-known university song, “Varsiti Kita.” It’s creating a moment of unity that felt very proud. Even I’m Indonesian, I felt proud  to become a part of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, it was meaningful experience while orientation day.
