Attend Persatuan Pelajar Indonesia (PPI) Event

 


As Indonesian students studying in Malaysia, we united under an organization called PPI (Persatuan Pelajar Indonesia), a student association that serves as a home for Indonesians studying abroad. It became a place where we could share experiences, support one another, and maintain a little piece of Indonesia. 

On 11 October 2025, PPI UKM held an event called Maba Day (Mahasiswa Baru Day), specifically designed to introduce the association to Indonesian students. The event welcomed us warmly, with a friendly atmosphere that immediately made many of us feel less like strangers and more like part of a growing community.

Throughout the program, PPI leaders and senior students explained the purpose of the organization, its activities, and its role in helping Indonesian students adapt to academic and social life in Malaysia. Beyond the informative parts, there were also fun segments such as games, performances, and any fun activities that encouraged us to interact freely.

After the event ended, we as Indonesian new student in UKM to get more close each other we were headed to TRX, a modern district in Kuala Lumpur known for its vibrant lifestyle and stunning cityscape. There, we walked around, relaxed, and continued to get to know each other more closely.

First Impression to UKM

I have came to UKM before decided to pursue my study here and it’s around July 2025. At that time I already received some offer letter from another 2 university in Malaysia. So, before I decided to choose which university that fit to me I came to the 2 university that accepted me and UKM. UKM is the first university that I visited that time and suddenly I fell in love with the campus environment. I feel very comfortable to walk around UKM and I can say the campus environment is really into me.  So, after the first time I came to UKM and I decide to choose this university. Even there is a lot of monkey around here but, it’s not a big problem for me. The campus environment is very calm and green. In another hand UKM located a bit far from central of city. Being Part of PPI UKM

  The year 2026 began with a new chapter and a decision that felt both exciting and meaningful. After months of joining events, meeting fellow Indonesians, and forming friendships, I finally chose to take a step further by becoming an official member of PPI UKM.  I applied and was accepted into the Intellectual Division, a branch that focuses on academic programs, knowledge-sharing, and development activities. For me, it was a source of pride, because not only I could contribute something useful, but also because it meant I was becoming more involved in the Indonesian community abroad. Starting the year with this new responsibility made 2026 feel promising. It marked not only the beginning of a new academic life but also the beginning of a journey filled with opportunities, challenges, and stories that would eventually become valuable memories.
